Upon graduating from UCLA's Design | Media Arts program in 2007, Ed co-founded the design agency Legitimate Hero (with fellow graduates Peter Ng, and Richard Ngo where he helped produce work for clients like SRI, Gnarle, and Arbitrage. While working at Legitimate Hero, Ed was offered an opportunity to lead both the art and design efforts at a mobile games startup named PlayMesh (later called Quark Games). During his time there he grew the art team from 1 to 6 and produced over 50 titles, one of which was ranked "#1 Free App" in the App Store. In August of 2013, the company released the title Champs: Battlegrounds which was featured by Apple and covered by IGN, Twitch, Polygon, and Kotaku. After 4 years of pushing the limits of both art and design for mobile games, Ed decided to focus on his passion for UX and Product Design. Today Ed is the Lead Designer at Guidebook, a SaaS-based content management system (CMS) for deploying custom mobile apps.
